Opening times

The opening times of the archaeological site are from 9am to dusk. The ticket office closes two hours before sundown. Closed: 1 January, 1 May, 25 December.

Entrance fee

Entry to excavations: €4.00. Entry to excavations + museum: €6.50.

How to get there

Paestum is part of the Capaccio municipality in the province of Salerno and is 43 km from Naples. The archaeological site of Paestum is located in an area between the mouth of the River Sele and the Licosa promontory. Its inland boundaries are the River Calore and the Alburni mountains.

The archaeological site of Paestum is 92 km from Naples-Capodichino airport.

• By car. Leave the A3 motorway at the Battipaglia exit toll if coming from the north, or the Eboli exit if coming from the south. Take the SS 18 road as far as Capaccio Scalo and Paestum.
• By train, the nearest railway stations are Paestum, and Capaccio Scalo. Both stations are on the Roma to Reggio Calabria rail line. Paestum station is 1 km from the museum.
